Personal

Personal Summary:

I am interested in playing overseas in order to experience baseball culture around the world, and am eager to be a part of a multicultural team and learn new customs and practices. I also look forward to the possibility of sharing my experiences and knowledge from playing in the US with other players and coaches.

I always maintain a positive attitude on and off the field, and am willing to do whatever it takes to win a ball game, even if that means stepping into the batters box or snagging a few bags.  I treat every game as if it were my last and lay it all out on the field. I am extremely motivated and determined, I take direction and critique with stride, and am a true team player.

I am very excited about the exciting new challenges and opportunities that come with playing ball abroad.

In the 2019 Season, I consistently threw at 87-89Mph (140-143Kph).  I walk very few batters, I pound the zone, dot the corners, and work in my off-speed with confidence.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Testimonials

Tom Nelson

Head Coach, Trinidad Triggers (Pecos League)

Calvin is an excellent pitcher and the definition of a gamer. He takes his craft very seriously and it shows come game day. Calvin throws a sneaky fastball with a nasty curve and a great change and believe he has added some pitches since he last played for me. His ability to remain present and focus on the task at hand is a big part of his effectiveness and combine that with his ability to hit spots makes him the guy you want out there in a big situation. As far as character you may find someone that works as hard as him but no one works harder than him. He is a team guy, a silent leader and knows the game very well. He would be a great addition to any ball club that pics him up.

Calvin Luk pitched extremely well in his time with the Trinidad Triggers of the Pecos League. What he lacks in stature he makes up with his competitive edge. He pitches without fear and is not detured by an hitter that steps to the plate. His off-speed provides swing and miss potential and continually attacks the zone with his fastball.
Luk is a driven, hard worker whether he is doing early work or asking him to help out with field work. He's a student of the game, he does his homework on hitters he'll be facing. Also knowing how to make in game adjustment on how to get hitters out.
It was a pleasure managing Calvin Luk and I very much hope he gets an opportunity to play for your organization.
