Personal

At the plate, Calvin can hit for both average and power, and he consistently has posted high on-base percentages, including .452 and .542 in his two seasons as a professional in the U.S. independent leagues.

Defensively, he has primarily been a catcher, but he also played a lot at second base, shortstop and third base, so he adds a lot of flexibility to a roster.  He continues to work out, train and play in men’s league tournaments to keep his skills at a high level and be ready for opportunities.

In addition, Calvin has experience as a head coach for youth teams and as an assistant coach at the high school and collegiate levels, and he would be interested in assisting a club’s coaching staff.  “I love helping people get better at baseball, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to help the guys win,” he says. “I put a lot of focus on the mental side of things, as well as the physical.”
