Personal

Brooke hits for power and also makes consistent contact, consistently posting very high on-base percentages.  She has mostly hit in the number-three spot in the lineup.

Shortstop has been her primary position, but she can easily slot in at second base and third base, as well.  She also played catcher in high school.  The velocity on her throws across the infield ranges in the low 70s (mph).  She has very good speed, having gone from home plate to first base in as little as 2.8 seconds and from home plate around the bases in as little as 11.4 seconds.

Brooke is a high-energy, vocal leader while also leading by example.  She is the type who works very hard on and off the field.   “ I’m always looking to put in more work, either on my own or with teammates,” she says. “I hold myself to high standards as well as my teammates. I’m not afraid of hard work or pushing myself and others to be better.”

She continues to work out and train on a regular basis to stay in top condition, and she is also serving as an assistant coach at the collegiate level.  She would be interested in helping a team’s coaching staff, should the opportunity arise.

Diane Lewis

Owner of Diane Lewis School of Softball; former coaching instructor

I have known Brooked since she was a small girl starting to play softball. I played college softball in the 1980’s at Cal State Long Beach, and have owned and worked at my indoor softball/baseball facility for over 25 years. Brooke has always been a very talented softball player. She is athletic and strong. She is a dominating shortstop and displays good communication and leadership on the field. She also is an aggressive player that has no problem diving for a ball. As a hitter she has a lot of power and does well under pressure to score runs. Off the field Brooke has a great personality and is very outgoing. Right now she helps coach her college team and, I imagine, she is well respected with the players and coaching staff. She is very organized and serious about her responsibilities. Her heart has always been in softball and her softball career shows her hard work and success. She was regarded one of the best players in D2 softball and could have easily played D1 if she wanted. She achieved many accolades throughout her career and gained the respect of many coaches and ball players she went against. I recommend her without reservation and think it would be great to watch her continue her softball career overseas. If you have any more questions please feel free to reach out to me anytime.

Maria Winn-Ratliff

Trinity Valley Softball head coach

Brooke is a very talented softball player with a high IQ. I got a chance to coach her for one season and the personal growth that she gained over that period of time was tremendous. She is a natural leader and that showed on the field with her work ethic and skillset. She has the ability to play multiple positions, hit for power and is a true 5 tool player. As a coach, you wish you had a whole team of Brookes. She is a game changer.
