Personal
Bass is a switch-hitter who can hit for both power and average, while also getting a lot of walks and posting high on-base percentages. He consistently gets more walks than strikeouts. He has an exit velocity that ranges around 100 (mph).
Defensively, he is versatile – able to play both corner infield positions and both corner outfield spots, while also serving as a middle infielder or pitcher when needed. He was primarily a middle infielder in high school, a third baseman his first two years in college and a first baseman his final two collegiate seasons. The velocity on his throws across the infield ranges in the low 80s. He pitched in high school, and the velocity on his fast ball ranged into the high 80s (mph).
Bass is a very hard worker and a supportive teammate who brings a lot of energy to the team environment. “I live in the [batting] cage and will help anyone that wants help,” he says. “I am going to be the hardest worker you will have and will basically live at the field.”
He has also coached youth teams and at baseball camps, and he would be happy to assist a club’s coaching staff.
