Strong and Athletic All-Conference Outfielder with a Plus-Speed Tool and Consistent Bat. Played 3B & 2B at a high level in a top summer leagues (Texas Collegiate League) and on the top team. Also played there at HBU in scrimmages.

In 2016, Anthony played his first year of college baseball with Cisco College. Anthony split time as the starting center fielder and helped lead the team to the NJCAA World Series. He batted .281 and led the team in stolen bases, despite splitting time.

In 2017, Anthony decided to move closer to home and play at Blinn College. This is where he had a break out year and earned all-conference honors. He became the starting left fielder and a team captain. He batted .344 and led the team and conference with 12 stolen bases.

In 2018, Anthony earned a scholarship to play at the Division 1 level at Houston Baptist University in the Southland Conference. Anthony quickly became one of the top guys in the program and earned a starting outfield spot. He led the team in stolen bases as well that year.

The summer of 2018, Anthony played for the Victoria Generals summer team in the Texas Collegiate League. Anthony became the everyday 3rd baseman and helped lead the team to winning the TCL championship.

In 2019, Anthony became team captain and earned the starting center fielder job. He increased his power numbers from previous years and led the team in stolen bases again.

Anthony would be a valuable asset to any team searching for a utility guy. Anthony has excellent pop and has the ability to steal 30+ bases in a season. Anthony runs a consistent 6.4 60 time. While he is mainly an outfielder, he can play a great defensive third base or second base. He is a great guy for the top of the order and will get on base and score runs. He has an exit velocity over 100 mph. He is also a leader in the clubhouse. He is now looking to help any team win a championship.

Clinton Welch

High School Coach

My name is Clinton Welch; head baseball coach at Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas. The purpose of this correspondence is to discuss Anthony Jones, who was on my high school team. Anthony played centerfield and hit leadoff. As a defensive player, he was speedy and an excellent jumps and angles outfielder. Offensively, he was our table setter. As Anthony went, the team went. His outstanding strike zone knowledge, base running skill, and ability to get extra base hits made him the ideal leadoff hitter.

Anthony is a well-rounded person on and off the field. He has outstanding drive, work ethic, and integrity. He was a good student in the classroom and on the baseball diamond. In addition, leader by example and role model are also attributes that he possesses. I can recommend Anthony without hesitation. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Xavier Hernandez

College Coach

My name is Xavier Hernandez and I am the Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Houston Baptist University, an NCAA Division I program. I spent 23 years in professional baseball, 14 as a player (including 10 years in MLB) and 9 years as a coach where I coached at the A, AA and AAA levels with the Tampa Bay Rays before coming home and taking the job at HBU.

I recruited Anthony Jones out of Blinn College because he has a good blend of speed and athleticism and has a very competitve nature. He won the starting LF job and became a quality leadoff hitter, able to start the game with an extra base hit (he had 5 HRs, 5 doubles and 2 triples his senior year) or getting into scoring position from first by having the ability to steal a base (12 SB/ 16 SBA).

He has always risen to the occasion to compete at the next level and I expect if given the opportunity, he will do so again. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Harvey McIntyre

Blinn College, Head Coach

Anthony came to play for me after one year at another school and was just looking for an opportunity. For the year that I had Anthony he displayed nothing but quality and positive traits as a young man and student athlete. Anthony always held himself to an extremely high standard on and off the field. In a very short period of time, he became a very integral part of our team and program. I would highly recommend ANTHONY to anyone looking for a person to make their business or program better!
