Personal
Alex is an athletic Centerfielder who has played highly competitive baseball throughout his career. He was an All-American and one of the top-ranked outfielders in the nation in high school while setting North Carolina state records in season batting average (.667 BA) and career batting average (.524 BA) He was recruited by highly prestigious baseball colleges around the Southern USA and chose to go to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington; which competes in one of the top NCAA I conferences in the nation.
During his summers, Alex played with the Carolina Copperheads (Southern Collegiate Baseball league) and for the Wilmington Sharks in one of the most competitive college summer leagues in the country, the Coastal Plains League. With his experience and success, Alex was planning to play professionally after college; so after the draft did not work out, Alex decided to stay in shape while coaching high school and summer travel baseball teams over the past years.
Now Alex is looking to continue his baseball career overseas and become an ambassador of the game around the world. He has already spent a season playing in Belgium for the Louvain-La-Neuve Phoenix. He is a high on-base line drive/gap-to-gap Left-handed hitter with some good homerun pop. He ran a 6.9 60 yard dash and takes pride in his defensive abilities in centerfield. Alongside of playing, Alex enjoys coaching and would be open to coaching a youth/high school age team. Alex would be a great addition to any team seeking an outfielder. He wants to continue playing the game he loves while getting to explore new countries and met different people from all backgrounds
Overseas goals:
- Extend my career a little longer before hanging them up
- Experience new cultures and meet new people
- Use my knowledge and experience to help grow the game globally
- Gain coaching experience

I coached Alex in high school and work with him through Line Drive Academy. Alex was a starter at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Alex is a really good baseball player and coach with a high baseball IQ. More importantly, he is a quality young man with a strong work ethic. I think Alex would be a very good addition to any team he was on.
Had no issues with Alex here……very quiet, but intelligent person. Very knowledgeable in a lot of areas. Very reserved as a person. Very competitive on the field.
We have recruited Alex together with his brother Mikal a few years back.
Alex is very laid back. He's a good person and won't cause trouble at home, if he's hosted in a family.
When we recruited Alex, he was rehabbing his knee. But we hired him for coaching only, at first.
He ended up playing 1B, OF and pitched a bit for us.
He did well considering he hadn't played competetively in a few years and probably was still going to improve.
He coached one of our teams and helped with a few others.
He loves baseball and is quite knowledgable. Not sure if Alex is looking to play or coach only. I'm sure he would still be a solid player in a number of European leagues.
For coaching purposes, I think if you are looking for a guy you can trust, knows what he's talking about, and is working well in a staff, he's your guy.
Now, if you are looking for someone who will singlehandedly change the culture of a club, he may not be the ideal fit.
His players liked him. Teammates liked him. He's fun but not crazy.
He loves Europe and has the right mentality to live over here. He adjusted very easily to the lifestyle, so that's something clubs don't need to worry about.
