Personal

As a player, I bring athleticism, toughness, and a passion for the game. Offensively, I’m a gap-to-gap hitter that can also bring some power. On the basepaths, I am always trying to leverage my quickness and baseball IQ to take extra bases and steal bags. On the defensive side of things, my best quality is being a great athlete with plus quickness. Second base and third base are my most natural positions, but I can also play shortstop and the outfield.

A few key metrics highlighting my abilities:
– 74mph 90th Percentile Bat Speed
– 102.9mph Peak Exit Velocity
– 98.3mph Top Eighth Exit Velocity
– 4.0 second 30-yard dash (2022 MLB average was 4.08 seconds)
– 4.1 second 20-yard shuttle (only 3 players at the 2022 NFL combine beat this number)

I take pride in all aspects of my training and preparation (physically and mentally), so I am always working tirelessly to improve my skill-set.

Second base and third base are the spots I’m most comfortable at. I’ve also played some shortstop and all outfield positions in games or scrimmages in the last few years, as well as gotten reps at these positions in training. I am committed to being the best possible infielder I can be, but can play these secondary positions to help the team win and stay in the lineup. I am unable to pitch, and do not have experience at first base or catcher.

Being a great teammate is something I pride myself on. Whether I’m hitting at the top of the lineup and playing well, or am fighting for playing time, I’ve always been the best teammate I can possibly be. My work ethic and character are things that allow me to lead by example. Sometimes I will be a vocal leader, but only if it’s genuine and the environment calls for it. I also love joking with the boys and bringing the best possible energy. There are also going to be times where I am all business, as this lock-in time is how I prepare and commit to my process.

Career highlights

Throughout high school and college, I spent most of the time hurt, or quite frankly not very good at baseball. Despite this, I did everything I could to be the best I could given current conditions. In college (Lesley University, a D3 school in Massachusetts), I won the Coaches Award twice for my work ethic and actions as a teammate. Additionally, in college, I both made an all-sportsmanship team and was recognized for my academics in all seasons. I don’t seek out recognition for my actions as a teammate, but it is encouraging to know that my coaches and teammates think of me in this light.

Given this history of being hurt and not very good at baseball earlier in my career, I’m excited to keep getting better as a player. Being a late-bloomer has its challenges, but my two seasons of independent baseball have brought some great development. With my diligent training and preparation, I’m confident that the best version of me is yet to come.

Coaching

I am currently employed by Driveline Baseball, which I highly value. This time has allowed me to connect with players and coaches worldwide. I bring a lot of value to any team through my knowledge of player development, baseball technology, and structuring training plans. Recently, I’ve had hard-working teammates make significant on-field strides with my guidance. I understand how coaches can maximize player performance, but am aware that I don’t know everything and there is always more to learn.

I’m open to coaching opportunities, but they must align with my role at Driveline, which is important for my growth, my teammates, and my financial support. Between playing, training, and working at Driveline, my free time is limited.

Overseas Goals

Taking my career overseas is something that could be a great experience for me. My primary goal is to have no regrets in my playing career, and if there is an opportunity outside of the United States that makes sense, I’d be excited to jump on it. Seeing the world and experiencing new cultures is certainly something that I would love to do, but this would be a secondary goal for me. I am looking for an opportunity to play competitive baseball where I can both help a team win and continue developing my skill-set.

Even during a season, I will continue training (lifting, hitting, speed work, defense, etc.), so access to a weight room, cages, etc. is an important factor for me. If a team is only active a couple of days per week, I will not treat all the non-game days as vacation. That doesn’t mean I won’t explore new areas and have fun with my teammates, but it does mean that I will continue taking my playing, training, and preparation seriously. I realize that many players’ top priority for playing international baseball is to see the world, but my main focus is to become the best player I possibly can and play at the highest level I possibly can.

As mentioned earlier, I’ve battled a lot of adversity throughout my career. Even after college, I’ve endured a number of injuries, including multiple surgeries, that have cost me playing opportunities. I played in 2022 and 2023, then was unable to play thus far in 2024. Even through the injuries, I’ve not stopped training and doing everything I can to maximize my career.

For the last few years, I’ve both trained at and worked at Driveline Baseball. After college, I knew that I wasn’t content with how my career had gone. As mentioned earlier, I was both injured and a bad baseball player for much of my career; I didn’t want to hang it up like that. After college, following knee surgery (stemming from a broken leg in summer baseball during college), I drove 3000 miles from my home in Vermont to Kent, Washington. This was a bet on myself to find out how good I could be. Following a few months of getting after it at Driveline, I took a 92mph fastball to my (throwing hand’s) index finger in live at-bats and needed surgery. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and ultimately led me to getting a job with the company I moved across the country for.

Since that time, I have been both training and working for Driveline. Being a part of the most cutting edge organization in all of baseball, and arguably all of sport, is something I value. Throughout my time within the company, I’ve done whatever has been needed of me to help our team. My time at Driveline has allowed me to manage a department, connect with players and coaches from all around the world, increase my player development knowledge, and even make international trips. In 2023, I was able to visit Sydney, Australia to work with Baseball Australia coaches, and next week (beginning of October, 2024), I’ll be traveling to São Paulo, Brazil for another international baseball experience. Combined with my on-field abilities, all this time helping players and coaches from around the globe makes me a great fit with any team.
