4-Year NCAA DI Starter with Experience in the Cape Cod League
Name: Aaron Barnett
Weight: 205 lbs
DOB: July 4, 1995
Date Available: January 3, 2019
Positions (alt): RF, LF
College: Pepperdine University
I was a four year starter at Pepperdine University. In my time at Pepperdine, I finished with a career average of .314, and I earned Freshmen All American, Johnny Bench Award Watchlist, and 1st Team All West Coast Conference awards along the way. I was the starting catcher at Pepperdine, but in light of the stress it has taken on my body, I intend to finish out my post-Tommy John playing career as a first basemen who can also play corner outfield. I played these positions on off days from catcher in high school.
On and off the field, I bring more than my athletic achievements. I was captain of the Pepperdine team my junior and senior year, and I won an award known as the John Scolinos award, which is given to the player in the former senior class who demonstrated strong character and leadership skills. I also was an Academic All American my senior year. Finally, and most importantly, I love supporting the guys around me. To me, it genuinely does not matter how well I played so long as my team finishes on top.
Between my offensive statistical success and leadership capabilities, I feel that I bring a strong resume to the table both as an individual and as a teammate.
Abilities summary: I hit to all fields and for a high average. I am skilled with the bat – I can hit and run, bunt, hit behind runners, and also drive the ball well with gap power. I also have high baseball IQ and good mentality – was the captain of my Pepperdine baseball team Jr and Sr year.
