In 1991 the Attnang Athletics were founded when a local Croatian immigrant who had spent his youth playing baseball in South America and Australia recruited a group of local teens from the small town of approximately 8,000 to form the first baseball team in Attnang.

In their 25th season in 2016, the team completed a Boston Red Sox Style comeback series win after being down zero games to three and down to their last strike in game four, only to come back, witn game four and then the next three games to move on the the championship which they eventually won as well, their third in club history. It was the perfect way to celebrate their 25th anniversary and was a nice reward for years of hard work which included countless volunteers hours building up their club from nothing. The club managed to repeat in 2017, theri first back-to-back championships in club history.

The Athletics grew from an Austrian second division club playing on a local farm field that was donated, to four-time champs playing on a beautiful stadium inclusive with fully-loaded clubhouse, a youth field sponsored by MLB, and host one of the most popular international baseball tournaments on the planet with live music and teams from all over Europe. This documentary we made of their 25 year anniversary shows that America’s pastime is becoming a global pastime.
